Asos gingham skirt, New Look floral cardigan, Miu Miu leopard print shoes
SO CLOSE. I liked this skirt on the website, it's gingham which is always great and the fact that it's made so that it looks twisted and a bit asymmetrical is interesting, but unfortunately, it comes up very high for me - I'm constantly pulling the skirt down and it just goes right back up. As a result, I look quite pregnant, once again. The waist is also a little too big for me, so it makes me look a bit more boxy than I am... *siiiiigh* I really like this skirt, just not on me.
That's all for today, thank you for visiting my blog :)
Are you planning on selling it? It's SO cute and I can't find it on their website...
ReplyDeleteThanks Jasmine! I'm not going to sell it, I'm going to play around with it a little more and try to make it work maybe... you can find the skirt here, it costs 9GBP on sale:

:)
Oooh, I love the mix of the prints! Is it lined? If not, I think that lining could make it a bit more obedient...
ReplyDeleteMaybe with a peplum top? that way you don't have to tuck in the shirt, it does look a bit poofy in the mid section, if it had bin more fitted in the abs it would have looked much better but you are right it does add unwanted volume in the mid section, it's a cute skirt though and the prints look great together. =)
ReplyDelete@ Vita: Thank you! It's not lined, and I can't sew very well... but I'll play around a little, maybe I can make it work :)
ReplyDelete@ Shey: That is such a great idea! Why didn't I think of that? I tried wearing it with a longer cardigan but it just looked weird, but a peplum top could cover the not so perfect parts and still not look like well, a cover up... fantastic idea! Thank you! :D
I have to say, I don't think you look pregnant in this skirt. But it's the reason I avoid pencil skirts because I WOULD. I think Shey's suggestion of a peplum top is great. It would draw the eye away from the area you're uncomfortable with and would look pretty damn awesome! And maybe it would feel more comfortable without a top tucked in?
ReplyDeleteyou know i love it, then when you said how you felt and i looked again i can see what you mean, however you definately don't look pregnant, a curved tummy is quite delicious however you are not comfortable, i agree with shey, but overall i really like it - its floral and gingham and leopardskin! x
ReplyDeleteNice mix of prints!:) Why not take it to a tailor/seamstress and try to make it work? It's an amazing skirt.;)
